BLUE PANDA LAB “Tourism and Marine Protected Areas in the post-Covid era”
The “Blue Panda Lab” that will be hosted for the first time by WWF Greece, on July 24, 2021, starts its journey from Zakynthos, with main theme “Tourism and Marine Protected Areas in the post-Covid era”, searching for the components that will formulate the day after, and especially the co-existence of people and nature in a Marine Protected Area (MPA) which also happens to be a top tourism destination.

The event is linked with the Blue Panda’s sailing trip in the Mediterranean and its relevant visit to Zakynthos. WWF’s sailing boat will travel from July to November, and will visit six Marine Protected Areas across the Mediterranean where WWF is present, aiming to raise awareness among citizens and stakeholders, highlighting the MPA’s role for biodiversity, local communities and other activities in the area.

The “Blue Panda Lab” will host 7 speakers from different fields with their own expertise on the subject, and will draw special attention to the connection between the traveling experience and nature on the island of Zakynthos, in the Mediterranean Sea, and around the world.

The “Blue Panda Lab” is funded by WWF Sweden.
